Viva was born in England and grew up on the South Island of New Zealand. At sixteen, she moved to Australia to train at the National Theatre Ballet School, Melbourne, and then returned to the U.K. to further her study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London.
Viva was a member of Transitions Dance Company 2016-17 touring the UK and Europe, as well as completing a Masters in Dance Performance. Her research focused on the role and importance of play in the creative process of dance making, specifically how the individual can develop and better utilise their sense of play in order to be a unique and versatile performer, creator and collaborator. Viva is interested in further exploring the possibilities of play within an aerial dance context and is excited to discover the new challenges, opportunities and thrills that this work offers.
